ASHLEY E. JONES JOINS RABA KISTNER ENVIRONMENTAL AS ARCHAEOLOGIST (1/14/2016) Houston

Raba Kistner has announced that Ashley E. Jones has joined the firm to serve as an archaeologist in the firm’s Houston office. She is currently participating in all of Raba Kistner’s archaeology projects in the Houston area, including archaeological investigations for the proposed Doris Road Bridge over US 59 in Fort Bend County, the North Houston Highway (I-45) Improvement project, and the IH-10 expansion in Beaumont. 

Ashley brings four years of experience in archaeology to Raba Kistner, including projects from across Texas, the Southwestern United States, and Mexico. She has provided field and laboratory services for clients in the energy, education, and transportation sectors, among many others. Ashley has participated in a variety of projects, including pedestrian surveys, National Registry of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility test excavations, and data recovery investigations of both prehistoric and historic archaeological sites. These projects include exploratory investigations at sites in New Mexico and Arizona, data recovery excavations at a prehistoric site in Ohio, and pedestrian surveys across Texas and Oklahoma. Ashley has also published or presented on archaeological studies conducted in Mexico and multiple locations across Texas, including Houston.

Ashley received a Master of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of Virginia. Ashley is a member of the Society for American Archaeology, the Council of Texas Archaeologists, the Register of Professional Archaeologists, the Houston Archaeological Society, and the Women’s Transportation Seminar – Houston Chapter.
