Client: Cameron County International
Bridge System

Raba-Kistner was retained to provide engineering and environmental consulting for a new 7 mile rail line along the western section of southern Cameron County. With a need to abandon the rail lines running north and south through the town of Brownsville a new route was selected which runs from the town of Olmito north of Brownsville to a point approximately 2 miles west of town. The new rail line also included a new bridge crossing into Mexico. The study process was consistent with the National Environmental Policy Act with the U.S. State Department serving as the lead agency. Additionally, Raba-Kistner participated in and assisted in the Public Involvement process through public notices and holding public meetings and one public hearing.
