Firm acquired six offices in Texas and Louisiana
December 20, 2023--Raba Kistner, Inc., a leading provider of engineering and environmental consulting, construction materials engineering and testing, and project management, recently acquired six offices in the Gulf Coast region. This expansion advances Raba Kistner’s growth strategy in the Gulf Coast region and the energy sector.
Nearly 60 employees have joined Raba Kistner with the firm’s asset acquisition of construction materials engineering and testing (CoMET), Geotechnical Engineering, and Drilling/CPT operations of Braun Intertec’s locations in Beaumont, TX; La Porte, TX; Corpus Christi, TX; Gonzales, LA; Lafayette, LA; and Sulphur, LA. Outside of the acquisition area, Braun Intertec will continue to serve its clients in the areas of CoMET, Geotechnical Engineering and Drilling/CPT throughout the remainder of Texas through its other offices (Allen, Amarillo, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Lubbock, San Antonio, Texarkana, Tyler, and Wichita Falls). This acquisition does not in any way impact the operations of Braun Intertec’s other service divisions – Environmental Consulting, Non-Destructive Examination and Testing, or Building and Structural Sciences.

In early 2022, Raba Kistner announced a strategic plan to accommodate growth, efficiently serve clients and leverage the company’s expertise in the energy sector by expanding geotechnical engineering consulting, CoMET services, Drilling/CPT services, and environmental consulting in the Gulf Coast region. The company secured and is executing on several large scale projects and has established a long list of projects with local design and construction clients in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana. Raba Kistner opened offices with materials laboratories in Beaumont, Lake Charles, and Lafayette in mid to late 2022 and has grown to over 40 engineering and field staff.
Ryan Venable, Raba Kistner Senior Vice President and Gulf Coast Marketplace Leader, is leading the firm’s growth strategy in the region. Venable has a 20-year track record of achievement and experience in operations and business development for engineering and technology companies, and specialized knowledge in energy, development, and construction industries.
